Junior Research Assistant
Profile:
Apprenticeships graduate / B.SC. / M.SC. in biology/biotechnology/bio-(process) engineering.
Knowledge of basic life science / Biomedical (Minimum of 3 years experience).
Experience in “mammalian cell culture” is essential.
Experience in a lab environment is essential: Cellular and molecular biology.
Experience working in a sterile condition.
Experience working with bioreactors is a plus (but not required).
Self-motivated, strong work ethic.
Team-working mindset is essential.
Proficient in English.
Key responsibilities:
Maintenance and work with mammalian cell culture
Interact with core facilities for processing of experimental samples
Work closely with the scientists, research assistants, and students in coordinating research plans
Laboratory culture media/supplements/consumables stock management
Managing stock location
Managing usable duration
Communicating with other scientists to update the stock in the digital database.
Replenishing stock
Processing of laboratory deliveries, receipt, storage, and notifications
Generation of cell culture media
Stock ingredients (chemicals/growth factors) preparations
Media preparation
Maintaining workplace standards
Assisting in major laboratory activities
Follow the laboratory Standard Operational Procedure (SOP)
